What You Get...
I use professional quality digital
camera equipment which makes images a different shape
than your compact digital camera. Our images are shaped like
35mm negatives and the natural shape of a photo print is 4x6,
so the whole frame is available for printing. Traditional
photo prints are various shapes: 4x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 11x14,
etc. Except for 4x5 and 8x10, each of these shapes is different
from the others. A professional must shoot images with "air"
around the subjects, to allow the picture to be printed in
various formats. For example, a beautiful vertical format,
full-length image of the wedding couple may seem to have too
much foreground, or sky, in it. This is because such pictures
are often printed 8x10 and will loose 20% from the "ends"
of the frame.
The pictures you receive on your personalized CD
will print excellently on a drugstore or camera store digital
photo kiosk, or online at Shutter fly or another online photo
service. YOU are responsible for cropping, enhancing and editing
the pictures so they look good to you. We certify that the
original images are right and can be printed well by a competent
service. This does not always include your local 1 hour photo
lab, but it can.
When we started in the wedding photography business,
even small weddings cost thousands of dollars to shoot. Much
of that cost was involved in proofing, cropping, printing
and assembling beautiful photo albums. With the benefits of
digital photography, couples who wish to save money and get
a reasonable selection of pictures for a reasonable price
can be accommodated.
